Republican Presidential Debate

On September 16, 2015, the broadcasting company, CNN, held a republican presidential debate in Simi Valley, California. Among many presidential candidates, billionaire businessman, Donald Trump, was present. Donald Trump, being one of the most talked about candidates, was observed the most throughout the debate.

Earlier that week, Trump had talked about another republican presidential candidate, Carly Fiorina, to Rolling Stone Magazine. Trump had said to Rolling Stone Magazine, “Look at that face. Would anyone vote for that?” Trump was questioned about this statement, which caused heavy controversy at the debate due to its blunt and outright nature. Carly Fiorina replied by saying, “I think women all over this country heard very clearly what Mr. Trump said.” Trump very quickly replied to Fiorina and the debate questioner by saying, “I think she’s got a beautiful face and she’s a beautiful woman.” This only made the situation worse on Trump’s part because he only tried to make himself look better and make others forget that he had insulted Fiorina.

Fiorina was not the only one that had issues with Trump. Republican presidential candidate, Jeb Bush had much to say about Trump, including dissatisfaction at racial remarks involving his wife, who is Mexican. Trump had made statements before on how he believes that Mexican immigrants are only causing issues for America. These statements had been brought up again at the debate in Simi Valley, and Trump replied, saying, “If my wife were from Mexico, I think I would have a soft spot for people from Mexico.”  Jeb Bush was taken back by these statements due to the fact that his wife is Mexican. Bush had asked for an apology from Trump for his wife; however, Trump had declined to give an apology. Trump had said, “No, I won’t do that because I said nothing wrong, but I hear she’s a lovely woman.” Trump has still refused to give an apology statement to Bush’s wife.

In other news of Trump, he announced over Twitter on September 23rd, 2015, that he is personally boycotting Fox News. Due to Trump’s decline in the presidential polls that were shown on Fox News, Trump tweeted, “@FoxNews has been treating me very unfairly & I have therefore decided that I won’t be doing any more Fox shows for the foreseeable future.” Trump’s announcement has left many Fox employees bewildered as to whether Trump will actually follow through with his statement. Until then, America awaits for what else Trump has to say during his time of being a presidential candidate.DonaldTrump82915
